We drive slowly to a faded white building as we are not sure if we have found our destination or have gotten ourselves lost in quiet residential area where we may have disturbed the residents with our back and forth driving trying to locate a so called cafe on the side of cliff. A friend of ours has been doing research on a certain restaurant that has a great view while you eat in the Nakagusuku district not really sure of what the name is or where it is he declares he has found it and that we should take a trip there. We agree and start our search for this enigma of a cafe with pessimistic feeling as we are headed to an unpopular place that seemed to have nothing according to our maps. We drive up to the faded white building and are greeted by a rustic wooden sign that read “Welcome to Ristorante Hanta Baru”.
A relaxing atmosphere away from the busy road intersections only a few meters away Hanta Baru is a bit of mystery when you see it from afar as you get yourself nearer towards it. It’s a lone building situated on a cliff side view with a homey garden in the front. As you get closer and enter the restaurant you feel like you are transported away to a remote Italian cafe complete with a bar, well dressed attendants and a view that makes you feel like you're so high as if you were breaking bread with the Gods as you enjoy your meal. Hanta Baru is definitely a more calm romantic feel and I would not recommend bringing young children or a large group with a large appetite to fill. A group of four who are looking for a different pace from the usual loud slurping ramen and sushi shops that you encounter just about anywhere is who you would want to bring along for a place like this. I definitely recommend for a date trying to impress your partner and what a impressive view it is when you’ve sit down on the romantic wooden deck outside as the candle lights dance with the flickering lights from a city in far the off distance at night. The food can be a bit pricey especially during dinner and it takes abit of time to find the place as it’s hidden from most of the popular urban areas where most restaurants are located so a little planning is required when visiting this lovely establishment.
Hanta Baru is a an Italian restaurant/cafe with many salad and pasta offerings. The salads here are some of the best we’ve ever had. The best time to come for the salads is during lunch when all their salad offerings are available as a buffet. Fresh green leafy vegetables and a tasty selection of garnishes with an assortment of toppings are available for your salad needs. Pastas are among the popular items on the menu with all your Italians favorites included. The course meals are a choice of beef, fish or pasta. Depending on the what course meal you choose the course will vary with what items go well with your selection. Wine is also recommended as they have imports readily available to fit your dinner course’s tastes. The atmosphere as well as the restaurant's food is very romantic and relaxing really meant for a more Italian connoisseur’s appetite.
